NATIVE AMERICAN CENTERS

These will be designed to teach guests of the facility about the wisdom and the way-of-life of the indigenous people. They will be located in different areas through the country with the purpose of demonstrating the lifestyles and teachings of tribes past and present of the local areas. Guests will stay in dwellings traditional to the area that they are staying in. They will be exposed to ethnic food, songs, dancing, drumming, arts and crafts, etc. They will be taught the medicine ways, shamanic traditions, and about ancient traditions such as the vision quest, sun dance and sweat lodge. Each center will contain a museum. ONE LIGHT hopes to bring forth the wisdom of the Native People, their reverence for Mother Earth, so that mainstream society may increasingly benefit from this knowledge. ONE LIGHT also hopes to participate in increasing the sense of pride of ancestry in people that have been maligned for hundreds of years, and in increasing the appreciation of and respect for them by mainstream society.
